Andrew Mark Wright was believed to have lived and worked in the Waltham, Massachusetts area around the turn of this century. He was employed for a time at the original Waltham watch company. It is purported that he had 125 design patents to his name during his employment there. He and his wife, (Martha Smith?), had at least two sons, one of whom was his namesake.

A little about Andrew Mark Wright

As Far As We Know...
|
Andrew Mark's lineage is believed to be descended from an Andrew Nicholas Wright, most likely of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Our particular branch of the Wright's came to the new world at the beckon call of King George III. King George III enlisted the aid of Scotsmen and Englishmen to fight the American colonialists. In exchange, the king would give each man a small parcel in the New Scotland, or Nova Scotia. Captain John Wright is supposed to be the ancestor for our family tree. He was an officer in the Black Watch. Once arrived at the Americas, the war quickly ended and John is supposed to have settled in or near Halifax, NS. From there, the lineage is somewhat blurry until around 1900 with Andrew Mark Wright.
Any information that could add to or support this story, thus far, would be greatly appreciated!
